Dallas, Texas 2007

May 14, 2007

It's been a while sense I've posted anything, so I might as well give it a try.

Last month, on April 21, I went to go see my Uncle Robin and his family along with my Grandmother (My Mom's Mom), who is living with them. The occasion was for Raymond (my cousin), he was getting confirmed. This was indeed a nice change of scenery. If you've ever been in Texas, then you know how far apart most things are in Texas, even in the cities. I quite enjoyed my visit.

One thing that surprised me when compared to Las Vegas (where I live), is the variety of restaurants. My uncle treated me out to dinner at a Texas Roadhouse. I know some of you are rolling your eyes, but I've never been to steakhouse quite like this. It wasn't the food that struck me, it was the peanuts, and what you do with the peanuts. In the waiting room and on the dining tables of the restaurant were metal buckets of peanuts. You grab a peanut, crack it open, eat the nuts, and then throw the shell on the floor. I was taught never to litter, so to my surprise people were doing exactly that in this restaurant. I thought it was funny!
